Fabric composition is the first thing to look at when choosing work clothes. It decides how comfortable a suit is in the heat, how fast it wears out and how it looks after washing. The Sardoba Textile catalog has two main options: 100% cotton twill and "Twill" poly-cotton blend fabric.
What cotton twill is
Twill is a fabric with a diagonal weave, which makes it dense and strong. In Sardoba Textile summer workwear the twill is 100% cotton, in 210, 270 and 320 g/m².
Cotton is a natural fiber. Its main advantages:
- it lets air through and absorbs moisture, so a cotton suit is more comfortable in the heat;
- it feels pleasant on the skin and suits everyday wear for a full shift.
The catalog has 38 summer models in 100% cotton twill, plus baseball caps.
What "Twill" poly-cotton blend is
"Twill" in the catalog is a blend of polyester and cotton in two compositions:
- 65% polyester / 35% cotton: 270 g/m² in summer suits (Gross, Frigate, Oregon) and 210–240 g/m² in winter suits;
- 80% polyester / 20% cotton: 240 g/m² (Mega, Master, the Manhattan vest, the bib apron).
Polyester makes the fabric more hard-wearing: it creases less, keeps its shape better and dries faster. The cotton in the blend makes it more pleasant on the skin than pure synthetics.

When to choose which
- Outdoor work in the heat, heavy physical work: cotton, because it breathes and absorbs sweat.
- Frequent washing and heavy wear, a uniform that must look neat: poly-cotton blend.
- Winter workwear: all winter models in the catalog have a 65/35 "Twill" shell with insulation (synthetic padding and hollow fiber), a spunbond windproof layer and a taffeta lining. More in Winter Workwear.
One model, two fabrics
If a model already suits you by its cut, you can choose the fabric separately. These models are made in two fabrics with the same cut and details:
- Frigate: 100% cotton twill 320 g/m² or "Twill" 65/35, 270 g/m²;
- Oregon: 100% cotton twill 320 g/m² or "Twill" 65/35, 270 g/m², and in light grey, "Twill" 80/20, 240 g/m²;
- Legion: 100% cotton twill 320 g/m² or, in brown, "Twill" 80/20, 240 g/m².
Fabric by the roll
Sardoba Textile also sells the same compositions as fabric in 70 m rolls: 80/20 and 65/35 poly-cotton, CVC 80/20 and 100% cotton from 200 to 290 g/m², with a water-repellent finish. All items, compositions and colors are in the Fabrics section.
